    St Davids Cathedral II

Only had a couple of sunny days down in Wales but one evening, the clouds cleared and as the sun dropped down underneath them, it developed into the most golden of Golden Hours. I dashed out to shoot something (anything!). Tried the area of the creek but the cliffs put it in shadow. I ended up back at the Cathedral but this time in the Cathedral precinct. The light was special and I hope that I have managed to convey it here.

Mike, the viewpoint that I mentioned in the first set is on the path behind the railings at the end of the gate house (in the doorway).

Love them all, but especially the last. The colours you have captured are amazing.

Great shots and you went at the right time to avoid too many people. Personal thing, I don't think I would have processed them so much but that's taste.

I'll remember the last shot. That's brilliant as it's not the easiest of places to photograph and it sums the cathedral up nicely.

I'm off to west Wales again next week. Hope to catch some photogenic weather this time and maybe one or two sea birds will be about and the tide in the right state. That hasn't coincided over the past few months so it may be too late.

Stunning shots, John. Well worth the effort of getting up before sunrise. 3and 4 are just superb.

    Re: St Davids Cathedral II

Thanks all for the comments. The colours are all down to the light that evening and being able to get to a place worth capturing whilst it was there

John, there hasn't been that much PP out side of the usual basic adjustments. The FG in the last needed lifting because I exposed to capture the sky/ sun. The sky in the third has had a gradient layer added in RAW to even up the light distribution left to right (a bit of burning and dodging perhaps as well) but that's about it. Good luck in Wales. It's a photographers destination. Looks like low water next week off the west coast varies between 09.30 and 14.00 or after midnight.

The texture in the stonework looks brilliant in the third and the colours in the forth, just WOW.
