I am learning how to use layers. Nothing fancy yet just my usual procedures in a new format. Next week I will move into masks and blending and the really fun stuff.

I am finding that the end product is of a higher quality using layers rather than doing everything on the one shot.

Learning photoshop was the best idea I ever had. I watched hours and hours of tutorials on youtube and starting entering competitions....and then winning a few. Definitely the best program to make photos look better or to manipulate them in any way you want. The photo I've attached is one I did at my wedding and it was about 12 layers. Once you learn blending modes it starts to get really fun.

Thanks Brian - although macro isn't my direction I do love to see your work and that of others practising in the same area.

wo things have led me to where i am. (1) I don't get out much so if I don't do macro I soon run out of subjects (2) there is a belief in meditative Buddhism that the entire universe and all you need to know can be found in your back yard. I'm still looking.
