    There is a long article on Pointer's Gamut on tftcentral uk showing that it can't be covered by 3 real colours - bit of a problem for display devices. It's also based on assumptions about reflected colours. Correct / incorrect / guess - don't think anyone knows. It's still smaller than the gamut our eyes can cover.

    Perhaps you are looking a profile which has the REC. 2020 primaries for the new generation of TVs? These primaries give a RGB gamut which more or less encompasses the Pointers gamut. If so, I just found:

    ArgyllCMS has a Rec2020.icm profile in the /ref/ folder.

    Mostly, the fine points limits of gamut relative to human visual gamut do not matter much. I think sometimes they do though.

    I recently spent an interesting few minutes at my local print shop looking at (sRGB) photo prints in comparison to high-end inkjet prints of the same (prophoto) files. Differences that might make a difference were noticeable. For instance, I have had difficulty being satisfied with some fall yellows on my monitor and on prints, and examining the examples at the shop explained this problem very well - the yellows I was looking for cannot be found in the sRGB gamut. I think I may be able to get what I want if I order an Inkjet of a prophoto (or ad least aRGB) file of my images in question.
