Looks like it went exceptionally well. Beautiful shot of the eagle, amazing detail even in the white feathers on the head.
I think the first image is lovely and because it is almost black and white already, I'm thinking that maybe it would be stand out more in be black and white. I truly don't know, the thought just came to mind.
Nice capture.
Thanks, guys. There you go, Christina, OP converted as suggested.
I was really mad that I clipped the wings on the bird. It was flying more or less towards me and I zoomed out to get both wings within the horizontal aspect of the frame. Then the darn thing banked hard right to go after another bird that it was fussing with just as I got focus lock and pressed the shutter. I've got three more similar frames in perfect focus etc. and with varying degrees of wing loss
All in all not one of my better eagle outings. I did shoot a couple of wet ones earlier in the day.
Hi, Dan. Very nice shots. I especially love the last one, for its beautiful left wing and its face expression. Well done!
Hi Dan,
Thanks for sharing your experience. Still beautiful even with the wings a bit clipped!
These last two shots are beauties, too. (as all of your eagles are) I adore the 3rd eagle for the intense look in the eagles eye and the beautiful detail in the white, and the 4th eagle for the wing position showing of the beauty of its wings.
Are you sure that you changed that first image to b&w? The first hillside still looks very green to me.
Hi Dan,
I don't mind the clipped wings on #1 (eagle) too much as it is so close and I appreciate how any BoP can do that to us 'togs
EDIT: Nearly forgot, I also love that last one - it really shows the creature battling the elements.
For anyone using FireFox, I would recommend an Add-On called Color Inspector 3D, it allows analysis of images to see if they are coloured or not - in this case it is (unsurprisingly) just as Dan said; monochrome with a slant to red as the levels get lower. Are you sure that you changed that first image to b&w? The first hillside still looks very green to me.
The cube can be rotated to allow better understanding of images pixel dispersal.
