Nice light and color. The stone is great. Handsome structure and setting. The softened perimeter is an interesting idea and I think it might work well but to my eye there is a bit too much of it here, and its edges a bit too abrupt (viz foreground bush lower left) so more feather might help this for me. Also, I guess I wish I could see the entrance, your openings for the shot probably dictated what you have.

Beautiful colours and light. It's a beautiful scene and I kind of like the dreamy soft look on the church and also the background but the blur on the trees in the immediate foreground doesn't appeal to me.

The reason I like the dreamy soft look is because it brings to mind the scene from a fairy tale (movie, book cover)... And I agree with John about the odd bits.

Nice to see someone trying something different and it nearly works for me. I'm kind of with Christina on this one plus losing the odd bits in the bottom right hand corner (flagpole top and rail?).

I agree with Mark about the use of blur here, John. The lower section of the building is in focus, but the top is blurred, which seems kind of odd.

I do like the soft look also. I think i would remove the two lamps at the front entrance as my eye immediately goes there.

This is a view from my apartment window and I've shot it hundreds of times, sharp, overexposed, blurry. This time I was trying something a bit different and I used the Nikon preset "miniature effect" which is why it has both the dreamy and blurry edge look.

Hi Binnur, this was an experiment, see post#13. I liked how the preset provided what was to me a sliver of sharpness across the scene and slightly drifted into a blur.

I probably have hundreds of sharp views of this same structure, but none really appealed to me, or perhaps the first one I ever shot did and all the others were just replicas. I saw this one as something a bit different. Thanks for viewing and commenting, it keeps me searching for new ways to present an image.

Thanks for the comments. The image does have that effect, it's a preset that I rarely use, I may have to find other uses for it.

I thought it had the miniature village feel - so now I know why !!
I like it - and experimetning with your own 'back yard' is always allowed and interesting
