I like how the OOF and the narrow focus line 1/3 at the bottom creates a plane for the beetle.

Welcome to CiC Steven! The shallow DoF works well in your image. Perhaps just a tad more DoF so that the antenna and front legs were in focus might improve the capture?

Truly exquisite! I adore the light and the composition, and the rear view of the cute little critter. A wee bot more DOF would be nice for the antennae but nevertheless exceptionally beautiful!
I'm especially curious about this beautiful image because it works so beautifully with so much negative space (something I am trying to learn more about and to work with) and also because the Potato Beetle isn't facing us and walking out of the frame. (and the stripes on the little guy lead us there, too)
