    Anatomy of an Image

Left work early and decided to cut through the local cemetery. Found an interesting subject and decided to work the scene:
    Anatomy of an Image

    ...when up ahead I spotted:
    Anatomy of an Image
My interests quickly changed to this new target. I tried to adjust to my settings while tracking the bird in my dress shoes, messenger bag, and coat folded over my arm.
    Anatomy of an Image
Shots were getting better as I was getting closer, then another bird appeared to my right, much smaller than the first. Shots still getting better when...
    Anatomy of an Image
    Anatomy of an Image
...when up ahead I spotted three deer, they moved so fast I could barely capture one.
    Anatomy of an Image
...I thought better of pursuing this new game and went home.

You might say this is the equivalent of going fishing or hunting and almost bagging the big one. All shot with the Olympus PEN EPL1 one handed while juggling other items only found on a city boy.

Photographer's rule #221 implicitly states, "The Quality of the Shot is inversely proportional to the preparedness of the Photographer"

...or the ones that got away always outnumber those that didn't. At least you had a camera with you John. I'm generally wishing I had. Interesting story and images.

Sometimes, these things are best left alone. lols. Seeing those animals specific to a graveyard makes me think of reincarnation, or even ghostly manifestations. Weird how the brain works.

Nice turkeys, and the fawn is precious. Though must have scared the beejebers out of you when he took off.

Hi Marie, Thanks for commenting and scaring me (with talks of reincarnation and spirits) although I did get the sense the turkey was luring me further inwards.

Great shots, you seized the moment well. I particularly like the uniformity of composition in the 1st and 5th shots, although I would perhaps have cropped the bottom on the first a little, only a personal opinion.
