More dogs saved...
Lulu is a darling Shih Tsu puppy about 10-months old who was found as a stray and was entered into a high kill California shelter. She was scheduled for euthanasia until Maltese Rescue California rescued her, cleaned her up and provided a foster home while she is awaiting her "furever" home. We don't think that iit will be long until someone wants to give this sweet puppy a new home. Lulu is quite skinny under that fluffy coat but, otherwise seems healthy!
BTW: dogs with black and white coats like Lulu are some of the most difficult for me to photograph. Keeping detail in both the black and the white areas takes extra work both in shooting and in post processing...
Stay tuned here for some other rescued dogs and their stories. We are shelter partners with most Southern California shelters and have volunteers who constantly search the various shelter websites for Maltese and other small dogs in need...
We pull most of our rescues from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and Kern County shelters. The San Diego shelters do a very good job in finding homes for their dogs (as well as having a clean and safe environment for the dogs). They place over 90% of their adoptable dogs. However, the San Diego shelters will contact us for special needs dogs.
We have just rescued, Sully, a 7-year old male Goldendoodle from the San Diego shelter. His picture and story next on this thread...

Re: Sullivan the Goldendoodle...
Thank you for saving their lives Richard, you are doing a great job They look sad because they had bad days before you found them. I hope they will live happily from now on.

Fun on a hot day...
We found out that Sully loves to swim and will swim along with my wife around in the pool as she is practicing with her snorkel and fins...
