    Re: Long exposures

Thank you Allan. I watched a video about long exposures in the past and a man was covering the viewfinder with a bubble gum! for the same reason. There is already a small plastic piece attached to my camera strap to cover the viewfinder and I use it if I shoot during the day. Do you think it is necessary to cover the viewfinder at sunset time as well? I actually didn't do it for these shots above because it was late in the evening and sun was setting anyway.

And just a piece of info, some cameras when taking long exposures you can get light leaking in from the viewfinder, I found this on my full frame D600. What I do is carry a wool watchcap in my camera bag that I put on top of the camera over the viewfinder, and if it is cold out it is on my head until I need it for the shot.

Thank you Christina . Combining 2 images would be difficult for this image I think, because it would be difficult to make selections. But I will keep your advice in mind , it might be helpful for future shots

    Re: Long exposures

I out of habit cap my camera on long exposures if I feel that light might leak in, better to be safe when taking a six minute shot and you can't get it again as the light has changed. I have only had this problem with my full frame camera, my other camera a, c-crop D7000 never covered the viewfinder and never had a problem with light leaking in.
Oh and by the way very nice shots.

    Cheers: Allan
