B&W Conversions - Guatemala

I've started to do some of the street shots I took in Guatemala as B&W conversions.

I found this woman wandering around the market in San Pedro la Laguna.

Manfred, when I opened this shot up at the largest size in lytebox, I thought it was stunning. Then I realised I was only looking at half of the frame. With such a large file, the lower third was below the bottom edge of my monitor, and that makes me wonder if you have considered cropping tighter, say to just below the flowers closest to her throat. Unless you want the image to be about the clothing too -- although I think the headband, the hairstyle, and a bit of the top of the dress is sufficient to locate the woman in her culture. You have captured a very interesting expression on her face which says something about her situation.

She looks like she's got a lot on her mind - which you've captured well. I would like to know what she is thinking. The more I look at it the more it grows on me. She shows a lot of dignity that I like very much. I dig the gray scale as in my eyes it represents the whole gamut from black to white and everything in between. As for the cropping, I think it is framed well. Although others may disagree. I think there is enough information to speculate what environment she is in. Overall, it is a wonderful work, Manfred. The black and white conversion works very well. Cheers.
