Hello you all, back after a long time as I have a relatively relaxed weekend off work...
so enjoying the Football World Championship (phew, still in, sorry England, sorry USA), fun with the family as well as setting an idea I had. These plants I saw and I find that pattern/structure quite appealing - no clue what's the botanic name, but I copied that arrangement with water droplets like I've seen it here several times, hope no one is upset about that.
One image for introducing, the other about one of the arrangements... what do you think?

Brigitte, Brigitte, Brigitte...what nerve, that you would sincerely believe that it was acceptable practice to
borrow the techniques of others. It's not only acceptable...it's encouraged.

Aside from my attempt at levity, your first image is too cluttered...try using some sort of a drop cloth to
isolate the subject somewhat. Your second image is a whole lot better due to shallow DOF.

Now, if ya really want to get funky and creative...pick that, whatever it is,>bring it inside and
park it in front of your monitor that has a colorful flower displayed on it>create the same
droplets and shoot the picture.
Your goal is to get a ton of color in those droplets and use depth of field to blur out the monitor image.

Nice compositions, #3 has more potential than #2 only because of the contrasting colors.

Pretty, and pretty instructive group, William's tip is cool and #3 is terrific. I'm not sure I don't like #2 better, though, especially if it were a little brightened up in the greens. Thanks for these.

Nicely done. Not much to add to prior comments. The detail that is visible in the water drops is really cool. Good job.

That third one is what I had in mind...it may have seemed less cluttered without the second
thingy added in the image. Additionally...just a thought but, maybe try to put more distance
between monitor and subject.

#3 is a great image with touch of the abstract. I would like to see what Chauncey suggested about moving the background farther back so the it is more out of focus. Nice work!
