Brigitte, Brigitte, Brigitte...what nerve, that you would sincerely believe that it was acceptable practice to
borrow the techniques of others. It's not only acceptable...it's encouraged.
Aside from my attempt at levity, your first image is too cluttered...try using some sort of a drop cloth to
isolate the subject somewhat. Your second image is a whole lot better due to shallow DOF.
Now, if ya really want to get funky and creative...pick that, whatever it is,>bring it inside and
park it in front of your monitor that has a colorful flower displayed on it>create the same
droplets and shoot the picture.
Your goal is to get a ton of color in those droplets and use depth of field to blur out the monitor image.
