I take it you are shooting jpeg only then? Hopefully, using a tripod at that slow shutter speed? There are some free editing programs available, perhaps ACDsee came with your camera? Also, FastStone is good.
Nicely composed image, perhaps a few hot spots which should have shown as blinkies on your LCD meaning your highlights were overexposed.
This is such a great start, Kim. Congratulations!
Nicely composed image. Compelling photos all start with interesting subject matter placed well within the frame. You recognized the subject and composed it nicely. There is plenty of time to learn the technical stuff as you go.
Thank you Dan and Mike - appreciate the feedback.
A lovely capture Kim.

When we use the term tripod, we oftentimes mean something/anything to help stabilize that camera...
it can be a branch for example. Also, when you come upon a scene like that, work the scene/take pictures
from various positions, then do the same at various times of day...work that scene.
Thank you for the clarification. Yes, I have done that..there was nothing around to help me with this one. I did take several photos of this from different positions. It was interesting to notice the dramatic difference, I do plan to go back at a different time of day and see what the results might be. Thanks again for the assistance.
Very nice composition. good eye.
Mark,
Hello Kim: I will also say that the composition is pleasing. As well, this subject conveys a cool and peaceful mood. Very nice!
Hi, Kim. This one is already level! Very good. Composition is quite attractive and balanced. I will offer no critique nor edits here, as you dont need them! This one is really a good shot. Well done!
Lovely, Kim. Agree with the kudos above. For when you cover a lot of ground on foot with your camera, a monopod that doubles as a walking stick can give you a stop of two of shutter speed, without the awkwardness and weight of hauling a tripod around.
