Please share links for education videos about post processing

Hi. I have started this thread just to share the links for useful education videos about PP on the internet , because I think this is a need for all photographers. If you could add some information about the link such as what it is about and if it is free or not, I think it will be good. Thanks for the contributions in advance

    http://tv.adobe.com/

It is for all Adobe products such as PS,LR..

They have free videos good for new users in order to get familiar with the software .

I'd like to recommend Tim Grey videos - he does a full pay for course on Lightroom, CC and some of the NIK tools, it costs $50 - see http://www.greylearning.com/index.html but he has also done some free ones for B and H - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...uzPucTLsQc5Xxd should get you there.

I have found both to be very useful.

He also has a great newsletter / magazine /facebook / twitter - details at http://www.timgrey.com/

    Julieann Kost - Lightroom

Ms Kost also does a comprehensive Lightroom set at http://www.jkost.com/lightroom.html and has an interesting blog at http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/

An oftentimes overlooked asset is YouTube, not as professionally done but, a treasure trove nonetheless.

True - but as with many of the other "free" issues on the internet, there is a lot of good stuff and some absolute garbage out there. I'm not just referring to the technical merits, but also on the way the material was put together. Having to make certain assumptions as to what the person is talking about often requires a lot of experience in the field.

I hate to say it; but often you get what you pay for, and when the price is "nothing", you can expect that level of value. While not PP related, I do remember watching one person's suggestions on shooting a pano that were darn close to being 100% the opposite of what anyone who knows the material well would suggest.

I think it would be helpful, Binnur, if you were able to say what you are meaning. Are you, for example, referring to general concepts and ideas about post-processing, or are you thinking about instructional information for particular software packages?

For example, it would be pointless of me suggesting the Meet the Gimp resource if you are not using GIMP software.

Hi Donald, I wrote 'education videos' in the first post but apparently I haven't made it clear enough , then let me explain more. Thread is not for a particular software but for the generally used softwares like PS, GIMP or any other useful products on the market. So if people contribute to the thread at least with the links about the software they use , I think it is a profit for the other people.

Binnur, Here's one link with several resources that I came across just recently: http://petapixel.com/2014/07/03/best...ses-tutorials/. It covers a wide range of photography learning with the various sites it lists.

I have only tried one of the links from the Petapixel page: and that's this one: https://www.udemy.com/awesome-photos...htroom-tips/#/

As noted already, there's plenty of variation in the quality out there and I am not vouching for either of these sites. I can say I have tried out Yanik Udemy's tutorials & they are straight forward, easy to follow and seem best suited for beginners at Photoshop and Lightroom (like me!).

Adobe TV's resource pages are good, many excellent in fact, but I have found it not that easy to navigate (much like Photoshop itself!).

Re: Please share links for education videos about post processing

I've used Adobe TV, including some of Kost's videos, several of Tim Grey's videos, and Lynda.com. Grey and Lynda.com are not free. All four have been helpful. However, at the risk of being old-fashioned, I would make a different suggestion: books. Right now, I am working through Kloskowski's Layers, and for a topic this broad, I am finding it easier to use than videos. You go at your own pace, slowing down with you need to and skimming or skipping when material is superfluous. You can go back to repeat earlier parts very easily, without a lot of searching, and you can do them quickly the second time. Like Linda.com, Kloskowski makes all of the images he uses available online, and you can replicate exactly what he is doing.

For more specific, detailed things, I sometimes prefer videos. E.g., I found Grey's video on creating selections in Photoshop very helpful. For specific Lightroom features, every one of Kost's videos I have watched has been excellent.

If anyone has found the Tim Grey material on Lightroom useful, he's done a bunch of other stuff on p/shop, hdr, camera technique etc - http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...tim+grey+photo will get you there.
