Re: Deer Family on an Outing
Hi Suzan,
Very nice! The 1st image is absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous image! It is my favourite because the deer is looking right at you, and also because I love the beautiful background for the exquisite colours, the pretty flowers in the foreground, the little drops on the fir tree branches and the the forest in the background. A WOW for me!

Re: Deer Family on an Outing
Thank you all for the positive comments. The lighting that day was quite nice. There had just been a light rain and the sky was beginning to clear. My biggest challenge this summer has been weather. It has either been pouring rain or blinding sunshine.

Re: Deer Family on an Outing
Thank you Steven. This is the white-tail deer species common to northwestern Ontario. These particular ones roam an area near Lake Superior. They are quite plentiful and seem to have become accustomed to humans wandering through the marsh. There is quite a controversy brewing at the moment as some people are suggesting a cull due to the large population. As you can imagine, this sparks quite a debate.

Re: Deer Family on an Outing
Nice set, Suzan. The first shot is really awesome. You might consider going to a 4x5 format with all of the excess removed from the right side. It really is excellent for both content and technically well executed. Nice job.

Re: Deer Family on an Outing
I really like the first one , suzan. The background is really nice in that one. (and the backgrounds ,are what makes or breaks a shot) My only bit of advice, is to try not to clip the feet. Even though they are covered in grass and weeds, leave enough room as if they are visible. (oh, and when you have that nice background, don't forget to shoot a few wider shots as well.........you might find you like them better than the close-ups)
