    Garden Flowers - just experimenting.

A couple of days ago when the sky was lightly overcast and I wanted a break from writing up my insect records, I just wandered about in my garden.

Offhand, I can't remember the name. A merge of two different focus points would have worked better, but this was outside and there was just sufficient breeze to move the position.

A rather pale Geranium, but I just couldn't find a perfect flower. I think the previous day's rain did a bit of damage.

This Sweet Pea didn't quite work out as planned. By now, there was a little bit of weak sunshine and I was struggling with exposure/saturation. But I was walking by, so I took a quick shot. Ideally, I would have shielded against the sun but at the time I didn't realise it was quite so bright.

And trying something different in the way of background. Just about worked, but probably something which needs a bit more experimentation. I was concentrating more on this than the actual flowers.

Still, it made a bit of a break; plus a beer between shooting!

The trick here is to drink the beer before shooting........more the blur.

    Thanks for the comments.

The real reason for the experimentation was the marigold shot. The background is actually a printed image, on matte paper, to hide a very distracting real background.

I have used that trick before when shooting under 'studio' conditions but just wondered if I could get away with it for outside shots.
