To continue on with Dave's thread about colour gamut and our perception of it, I thought you all might be interested in this. I came upon it when researching how to get consistent colour reproduction throughout my work flow. A webinar i watched recommended a shot of an x rite colour checker to get the colour correct in post, then of course a calibrated monitor and custom print profiles. and it all actually works! i do get consistent realistic colours WUHOO!
Whilst researching the colour checker i came across this little test.....
http://xritephoto.com/ph_toolframe.aspx?action=coloriq
So i thought what the hell, i spend all this time trying to get my colours accurate and im not even sure that i can see them so i took the test.... i did it on a calibrated monitor im male age 49 my result was a score of 12 which is actually quite good. The lower your score the better and scores in my age/sex ranged from 0 (the best) to 1500 (the worst ) so at 12 im happy
Go on take the test! and let us know your result dont forget to tell us if your monitor is calibrated or not (age and sex optional )
