I've never seen a heron up close and personal. Look at that eye!
Nice shot Charlie. Maybe it's been dining on Chameleons and has absorbed their ability to change colors to match the background?
A bit more room at the bottom to include all the legs and feet would be nice, but sometimes you gotta take what you get.
Terry - I was driving through the marsh, 5' ditch on the left. 'Brownie' was on the other side of the ditch, about 15' from me. Hit the brakes ( I was looking for birds etc.so going slow) grab the camera and shoot. As soon as I stopped and shot, he took off. Wildlife is like that --wild! Thanks for input.
Aah, another fellow that cruises about looking for birds
I thought it was just me
Picture this:
Camera looped over the passenger seat head rest (switched on obviously), bean bag on the passenger seat, window open, cruising at 10 - 15 mph down quiet country roads early on a sunny morning.
Nice shot, shame they rarely give you a chance to do them justice.
Cheers,
I think it's a juvenile Great Blue Heron.Nice shot!
