    Golden Morn

Woke up to some sunrise fog the other day, so jumped into the car to look for some "targets of opportunity". I'd been by this field uncountable hundreds of times, and it was just a bit different that morning. Interested in your thoughts. Thanks for viewing.

Both lovely but for me the 1st image is especially beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous! I also like it with a wee bit cropped off of the bottom (cropping away a little bit the darker grass)

Both great images Kevin, the 1st is my pick as well. It looks almost like an oil painting. The beautiful morning light has certainly worked magic with your photo. A slight clockwise adjustment is maybe an option?
    Well done, Greg

Thanks, Christina. I've been experimenting a bit with some intentional marginal burning as a framing and visual focusing device. I like it in my current phase, whether I do in my next phase remains to be seen .

Thanks, Greg. This processing is sort of a regionally selective Orton approach I've been playing with. I'll take a look at the rotation- specifically at the apex of the barn down through the planking. I confess I eye-balled it. I appreciate the heads-up.

Beautifully done, beautiful exposure with the appropriate compo.
The first with the stable, I think the most beautiful.

    Re: Golden Morn

Kevin, this first shot is a great one and I like your selective use of the orton effect. It is an interesting concept that when applied well seems to work great. As far as intentionally burning the margins I think that in this case it effectively acts as a vignette that draws your eye to the stable but it does seem a tad dark to me as well so maybe experiment with lessening the effect a bit to see how you like it?

    Re: Golden Morn

I absolutely love pics of old barns/buildings in the countryside. The first one is awesome. I have a lot of farms close around me and all I need is the right lighting/opportunity for photos such as yours. Nice job with composition and exposure. I agree that it needs a slight tweek in rotation clockwise. Other than that, frame it and put it on the wall.

I like both, the first more so. The quality of light and the softness around the edges does it.

Kevin about all I can do is echo what the others have said - that first one works extremely well for me. Everything about it just seems to come together. Very nice.

Thanks to you all for taking the time to view and comment. I rely on your guidance, especially when I'm trying something new to me- I tend to experiment like a 13 year old girl applying makeup- slap a bunch on and take some off later.

It's not easy to capture light like that. Well done Kevin, and your processing technique seems to me to have brought out the best in the scene.

    Re: Golden Morn

I'm still just dreaming of capturing an image like this.

It's absolutely gorgeous! I love the processing and the dreamy look. I adore the image as is (and thank you for sharing how burning helps create visual focus), and as cropped simply because the beautiful light dominates the scene (for the mood).

Very nice , kevin. The first one is a winner for me.

Mild vignettes work very well as focusing devices. A very effective way of adding some large scale contrast to an image.
