    Hi Frank,

I like the 1st image because it is a very pretty view of the flower. I like the pink background but my personal preference would be for a softer pink or maybe green like the inside of the flower. The close-up is also beautifully photographed but I prefer the 1st view for the pretty factor.

You are in good company Christina! Several others have expressed similar thoughts well worth remembering. I think I'll need to try the pale green or perhaps chartreuse again with less saturation.

I like the first photo. The composition and detail in the petals is really nice. Whenever I have a flower photo and I can't decide on a background color I try a sky blue. Works most of the time. Try a radial gradient with the sky blue and white as the center.

Although for a more edgy look you could use a cobalt blue or use the green from the flower as the second color in the gradient.

Hi Frank . I made some trials for the BG by choosing the colours from the flower with the colour picker and unfortunately none of them worked But solid black goes very well with the image indeed. So , may be it is better to go that way

    Hi, Frank,

I am so sorry to be late to the party. I think you have a mislabeled bulb.

This is a picture of Amaryllis Half & Half.

Personally, I prefer a classic black or white background, but that is only my personal taste.

Otherwise, your images are lovely. #2 may be a good candidate for black and white? have you tried it yet?

I knew you'd look in when you got a chance. Your comment are very much appreciated! You may be right about the labeling. Although slightly different from the Clown, it is nonetheless, not as close to the Half and Half in the web image - notably the red top and white bottom.

I find that I do a pathetic job when I try mono but I don't mind at all if others want to try mono on any of my images.

I grabbed shots of the last few Amaryllis to blossom and I'll post them as soon as I can get the time to PP and try to find other 'interesting' ways to display them.

I don't mind having a go at converting to b&w either tonight or tomorrow, if no one else does it first.
