Thanks for commenting Ali. It is taking some practice to use the macro lens but it is fun.

The second and third rose shots are nice. I like the comps and techs are good. That is one ugly bug you chose to shoot
Nice set Rita, well done 👍
If the bug is a Vine Weevil and you like plants, if I were you when you've finished making your images of the weevil and it's playing dead make sure it is dead.
I find it very therapeutic dispatching the adults, in my experience they hide during the day, coming out to play during the evening, laying eggs at the base of plants, usually my favourite varieties!.
Their grubs (C shaped with a brownish head) are very destructive feeding on the plant roots until they emerge as adults, leaving you with very sick/dead plants.
Not my favourite bug (as you've probably guessed) but...they do make good macro subjects as do these 🐌. Now don't get me started on those wee beasties.
Gorgeous textures and colors on the roses! I forget...how does one see the Exif data for these photos?
Dan, Peter, and Joanne, thank you.
Dan, I agree it is certainly an ugly bug.
Peter, I can whole heartedly confirm that the bug is very dead.
Joanne, the roses were taken at SS 250 (with flash), f14, ISO 200.
The bugs were taken at f4.5/f.11 SS 250 with flash, ISO 200.
