Helpful Posts: this was taken a week ago, also at Zwartkop AFB in South Africa. Every first Saturday of the month the Museum flies its aircraft. This man was the engineer on this helicopter, an Alouette III. He's been working on these machines since the early eighties!
I've only recently started focusing more on the interaction between people and their flying machines as opposed to just taking a photo of a plane in the sky.

Such a good photo Paul, almost looks like the chopper is nuzzling up to him. I bet he knows every nut and bolt in it. Black & white really suit these series of images you are posting.

It certainly does look that way. Afterwards I asked him if he would pose for a photo but he was very camera shy. Thought I'll print this and give to him, just to prove that he does look good on a photo.
