great attempt, id try to kill the ambient in the background a little or tone the stalk down some how in post.

Can't find any shooting information about that image. I would concentrate a little more on composition and have fewer flowers which were all in focus.
For that sort of scene, I would be shooting with an aperture around F11 or a fraction narrower.
