Looks like some sort of Aloe to me Frank but there are so many varieties it might be hard to nail down. A quick search for purple and red flowering aloe got me nowhere though so I may be way off base...
Frank, I have no idea what this is but it is an interesting bloom
Looks like aBlue Tango Bromeliad.
No clue to what it is Frank but what a beautiful flower!
Very nice colours indeed
When I look Blue Tango Bromeliad on the web, that is exactly what it is. Thank you so much John! Right on the money!
According to the web, "Blue Tango is a patented hybrid that is a product of a hybridizing program. The light green leaves develop to an overall height of 36 inches. What sets Blue Tango apart is not only its long lasting flowers but… the vivid cobalt blue and hot pink flowers. Blue Tango is used indoors and outdoors."
I appreciate each and every one that has commented on this thread.
I love the colors so now I'll need to find out if this is something that we would have room to grow at home.
Beautiful Frank...Is this one from your garden? I love the colours...how big is that flower?
Looks like a firework going off Frank. Facinating flower. Looks like the others have nailed it.

Don't I wish! I about choked when I saw what these sell for on the web! Apparently these can get to be about 3 feet wide with all the green leaves spreading out but the blossom I saw was about 4 inched in diameter.
Thanks for the link John. Yup! An interesting arrangement to be sure.
