    Great service

Since I bought my Redsnapper ( http://www.redsnapperuk.com/ ) tripod a few years ago I have been very impressed with it. Recently it developed a fault and I sent it back for repair.

I have just received it back in full working order and the charge for the repair was ... £0.

Yes, all they wanted was payment for the return postage.

Always good to experience great service.

    Re: Great service

You are both correct. I think more companies are showing better customer relations but it is odd that some do not see the benefits of going that little bit further.

Last year some stitching on a rucksack I had bought eight months earlier failed. Although it was a manufacturing fault I thought the company would ask for it to be returned before considering what they would do. However, they said, "We'll send you a new one and a bag with a postage paid sticker for you to return the faulty one."

Many years ago I had a fan on a motherboard fail. The computer retailer's response was that I should dismantle the PC and return the fan to them for inspection! It was a fan for goodness sake and probably cost about £2, so I 'phoned the motherboard manufacturer (ASUS). They said, "We'll send you a new one and just throw the other one away".

Guess where I'll be looking when I want new outdoor gear or PC parts.
