Farmer's wife ... dignity in labor

Rob, a great capture, IMHO I do think the crop would work better, I am still very much a newbie at photography and PP. In this image my attention is drawn straight away to the clouds. Then, the ''farmers wife''. I feel the person in the background lends very little to the overall image. I feel the main subject should be the beaming smile. That is awesome.

Its a cracking shot as it stands, Rob.

My first thought was down the traditional route, ie rule of thirds, and the subject should have been more to the right of the frame with space on the left.

However, given the lady is looking straight out of the photo and that great smile means there is only one place you are going to look and I think a square crop would work well.

Great image, wonderful processing

It seems a bit over-processed to me, Rob. As John said, I think it needs a bit more contrast. The field to the left of the woman is darker than on the right; and there is a halo running down her back. It is a compelling composition but I think the whites in the clouds should be pulled down a bit, because they are competing with her face at the moment.

same here. maybe crop the woman out and blur background/ fix over-processing.

bring subject out more.
