Tioga Pass Yosemite
No CC required - not a final image.
We went into Yosemite via the Tioga Pass, for those who haven't been up this road it's a really terrific piece of highway engineering - see the second image for more details.
It's very difficult to give an idea of scale but if you look about the bottom middle of the image and go up a couple of cms along the Lee Vining Creek and you'll see a small red dot which is actually part of a building.
and here's the Information Plaque in the turnout from where the image was taken.

That is an amazing canyon ,or pass. I have not been that way, but it looks like a place worth seeing. That scene might make a nice picture under a sunset too, if the conditions were right, but the colors and brightness of the daytime are worth capturing as well.

It's a 12 mile drive from US395 up to the park entrance - you climb about 3000' and the views are stunning in places but there are a limited number of turnouts near them - even so I prefer this way in to coming in from the West though it is less accessible in winter which can run well into May.
