A lovely little bird. The first edit is a bit artificial looking. Leaving the bright spot only around the bird didn't work IMO. PS and Adobe products in general are not the most intuitive to use. But once you figure them out it'll click.

Hi Dan, I agree with you. The first edit just wasn't what I was hoping for.
A lightbulb sure went on tonight for masking, all of a sudden I get it
Grahame, much appreciated.
emyp2enz3cal thank you. If you edit your info and add your name in for us so we know what to call you that would be great.
For someone new to Photoshop, you did very well indeed. The second edit is much, much better by far. Love it.
Super edit, lovely bird
Izzie & Binnur, thank you so much. I also am happy with this edit now
Izzie, I tried out the quick mask you suggested. I need to practice to get more precise with it but it looks like an interesting way to select something.
Hi Rita, i'm very late to the thread but as Grahame said, very impressed
David, thank you. It was a fun process to work through.

[QUOTE=Christina S;430237]My pleasure.. Check your in box for an adorable chipmunk image with a dreadful background. Just kidding. (not about the photo, just the inbox)[/QUOTE
Nothing new in my inbox????
Hi Rita,
Nothing in your in box. I do have such a photo but I was just kidding about sending it to you. (a few years from now I will tackle it on my own)
I'm not very good at jokes, and I also always miss the punchline. My apologies for any confusion. I hope you understand (it's genetic).
Oh, now I get it. Wow I was slow on catching that one
