    Hi John,

    Lovely image, beautifully framed.

To add to the confusion of sharing our personal preference. I prefer the edit for the extra detail brought out with perhaps just a wee bit more brightness/lightness.

    I like this version.

    Perhaps, clone out the aircon.

This is a lovely scene and the composition looks just right to me. However the texture of the stone worries me a little. While I think that some images cry out for B&W conversion, I wonder whether this is one of them. It would be interesting to me to see a coloured version, or one with less than full desaturation. I realise that I am a bit perverse in my general preference for colour.

B/W is a PITA to convert sometimes but you did very well in both. I love the colour version as well. Simply stunning. And oh... the aircon -- leave it there. I like it the way it is. not telling you what to do but it will be hard to get that out (according to me).

    Izzie,

Thanks for the comments, I see ACs so often that they appear as part of the architecture sometimes. The only time they annoy me is when they make a lot of noise or drip water on my head. I used to treat telephone lines and street signs with the same disregard, but now find myself either foregoing the shot or looking for ways (moving about) to lessen the obstructions impact on my images.
