A quick tour around Swaledale

Now that the Tour De France has departed I thought it was time for a trip around Swaledale. The Tour may have departed but...there's still lots of road graffiti but I didn't think to stop and make an image of the graffiti, standing in the middle of a road could be considered dangerous

Anyway enough of my rambling on to some images, enjoy your trip.

#1 Walls and barns near Gunnerside



#2 the left hand side of Wainwath Falls, the other side had children playing in the water and I wasn't going to ask the parent to sign a release form.

Irene thanks for stopping by and commenting. The dry stone walls and barns are use a lot in this part of North Yorkshire. They've been in situ for a long time the farmers like them as they keep the sheep where they want them 😉
If you look closely there is a few in the field just in front of the barn on the left side of the image. Thanks again.

Funny, we just had a conversation in NZ at the w/e about these walls.
My parents have become friends with a young couple who migrated from this area to Rangiora.

I love all of them especially #2 -- I love the curves of the way around the rock and the source is good too. It looks like two shots in one...strange...but beautiful...incredibly beautiful.

Nice pictures. I like #1 for the shapes and you can see the wall close up. It looks very old. In #3 you can see how vast of an area it really covers.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting Kay, glad the thistle made you smile. I had to look up Rangiora in NZ as wee were in NZ earlier in the year and may have even visited it, if not we were very close as we had lunch at the Pegasus Bay Winerey

Nice set. Particularly nos.1 and 3 are very well composed and executed. I love the first one. Getting even tighter on the wall in the FG might have been interesting though perhaps not technically doable depending on the lens you were using. Nicely done.

We're cyclists and have watched Le Tour for over 30 years. We were amazed at the fan turn out in the UK. I guess it helped that Wiggins and Froom have done so well in recent years.
