Bleach Bypass and subsequent conversion to mono.

I love Bleach bypass...that desaturated look just fills me with joy and my Ricoh GR expert does it beautifully.

Now I understand how it works so have no problem there....also I always shoot RAW + 1... However, sometimes I end up wanting to convert the BB shot into mono and there's some hideous aliasing . This means I have to convert from the RAW which gives me a much different result to what I am after.

I want decent quality BB that can stand conversion and be used for print.

    Am I kidding myself?

    Sharon,

I would like to understand hat you are writing, but I am lost... what is bleach bypass, what is BB? By the way, I know Ricoh though I haven't heard of this brand for a long time, but what is a GR expert?

And yes, one or two examples would be great.

    Hi Lukas,
BB = Bleach Bypass. It is a processing technique from film days, and is available as a preset in some software packages (eg PerfectPhotoSuite, Nik). You can read about it here: http://www.ask.com/wiki/Bleach_bypas...apn&ap=ask.com

There are as many techniques to emulate the effect in other software applications as there are people writing about it. See for example,

Just google Bleach Bypass to find out more.
