Glad for your honest comment, Binnur. The chicken costume was in the laundry so I just decided to wear my shirt and jeans inside out during this photo walk. That always get people's attention.

I see you have decided to use your profile photo as your avatar. Very Nice. Cheers.

Honest C&C, but please be kind...that is one big oxymoronic phrase.

Actually, I was soliciting C&C on my photo, and not on my grammar, Chauncey. Would you have preferred "gentle"?

Actually you misunderstood Bill (William)...he meant if you want honest CC then the "please be kind" is sort of a contrary statement. At the most you will get will be people saying your shot is good, nice or something with nice words in them when it is sometimes not. Have fun.

English is not my first language, IzzieK. I thought that one can be kind or nice and honest at the same time. It is at least where I was brought up. Must be different for an American culture.

English is not my first language either, but I try to integrate here as I have not much choice...I live amongst them...think in English, speak in English even if sometimes it is hard to translate in my head. No matter, some people, though you thought speaks (write) harsh are hardly really harsh. You should hear us Aussies speak...the word bastard is not derogatory. It is a common word...Be gentle with yourself and don't take anything too seriously apart from your photography and your varied interest in learning.

And comment on other posts too. It means a lot to those who does post their image or their comments.

Indeed, Izzie! And much "worse". But I have discovered that very few people of foreign origin understand the Australian vernacular, let alone our irreverent and self-deprecating sense of humour. (Although, I hasten to add the English do seem to have a handle on it.) Moreover, it seems to me that we Australians have a highly refined sense of irony, which completely baffles other people. And in general people from other cultures don't seem to appreciate the humour when someone takes the piss out of them. But this is just everyday life for us: I guess that is why we are so good at it.

What happened to your avatar, Greg? Are you changing it to a more sexier bod one?

I'm reluctant to show my face, Izzie, because of whom might recognise me. For example, Paul was recently here and I'm pretty sure I saw him photographing the lighthouse (he was the guy with a camera - everyone else has iphones). Now if he had seen me, I would have had to talk to him. How tragic would that be, talking to a kiwi!!
