tokina 11-16 dxii or any other recommended wide angle

Hi all. Just to let u know i have nikon d5100 so think dx.

I'm looking for a good wide angle lens and for me personally IQ is top priority. I have heard good things about the taking 11-16 and i sales person has also recommended the newer 12-28though haven't seen good reviews.

Can anyone comment on the 11-16 ?

Otherwise any other choices in nikon or stigma range? I believe the nikon or14-24 is tops but price is just ridiculous. Adjust outta interest would that lens be wide enough on dx?

Thank you for your help and advice in this.

I think it's a great lens. Delivers all the quality I need or want. It did attract comment in relation to CA, but if you know that then you can deal with it. One example of the lens at work is:-

The Tokina has a dedicated following and users are generally very happy with it - personally I would look at the Sigma 8-16mm which I have used and found to be amazing.

I have this lens for my D7100 and wouldn't part with it. There was some comment on CA but I have never seen it and as Donald says, it is easily dealt with should it occur. What sold me over any competition was that it is a constant f2.8 which if you are an idle so and so like me when it comes to tripods, can be quite useful.

    Love the shot BTW Donald.
