In hallowed ground - The Chapelle Chambertin vineyard

As some of you on here know, my other passion is wine. And in June I was in Burgundy, France for a couple of weeks, arguably the home of the greatest wine in the world.

Anyway I posted this first image up on social media saying that for non-wine lovers this was just a shed in a field, but for wine lovers this was the promised land.

Well, just close by and you are really onto hallowed ground. Again, for many people, this is just a field. But for others ....! Well, this is indeed hallowed ground.

Very keen to read what you think about this B & W. Does it work for you?

This works for me but I would like it even more if the top was cropped to exclude everything beyond the grape vines. Doing so leaves it to the imagination to wonder just how large the field is. Including the other stuff limits the size of the "sea of vines." I would also probably clone to remove the man-made thing in the lower right corner to limit everything in the image to the farmers and their vines.

I also like the color photo.

Wine enthusiasts will be interested to know (I didn't until I looked it up) that this is a grand cru vineyard.

Hi Donald. #2 might look nice in color too. I agree with Mike that you should leave the two man alone in the vineyard by cropping and cloning

Nicely captured. A closer crop or lower angle of the two gentlemen would be interesting as well.

Excellent food for thought. You are 'seeing' images that I didn't 'see'. Am off to look at this one again.
