Interesting Grahame...yes...one of those instances where selective colouring works best. Mind me telling you that you started with a tad dark image? I like the comp though...
Hi Izzie, it was a very poorly lit image, bright one side, the sun is setting on the left, dark on the other and my intention was to try and draw the light into the sign and the curve in the road and this was just a quick go for the fun aspect of it.
But, the more I look at it I'm going to have another go and see if I can kill some more of that light in the sky and make it look more like night just for the PP practice.
And of course I don't mind you 'telling' me

Way too funny!
Nice, we won't report you to Scott Kelby.
I'm with Izzie that the image is a tad dark - just tell folks that you ere trying to capture the essence of dusk and you can get away with it
As a side ntoe I had a good chuckle at John's comment:

Oooops!
I do like the selective coloring on this!
Ok Shane, I'll have another go Apart from the humour side of the image I'm finding it an interesting and challenging exercise in trying to concentrate light and hopefully the viewers eyes to the significant part of the image.
If the rain and wind would stop I could get back to some serious work
I like it but is a little on the dark side - not the humor rather the tones.
Great capture and enjoyed as everyone else has - puts a smile on your face doesn't it ! Good use of selective colouring too - fits the concept perfectly.
Interesting that the bend curves right, while the sign curves left and at 60 no less.
Hi Izzie, ironically I had driven past this sign twice that day and never noticed the anomaly it was only when I had parked up close to it taking some pictures that as I was packing the gear back in the car, glanced at it and something twigged.
I have sent the location and a picture to our roads authority suggesting they address this with some urgently.
