It was Sunday morning and we were about to take our first hike in Lofoten. We got to the trail head and saw that the path would take us up the side of a mountain into the very low-lying clouds.
We went to a different area and checked out Offersoykammen mountain. We saw a cloud line below the summit to its left but everything else was bright sunshine. So we began the hike and by the time we got to the summit, we were at the clouds -- partly above them and partly in them. We looked down upon them and even saw two full-circle rainbows that are usually seen only from aircraft. The summit comes to a point that was literally parting the cloud flow; it went to the left and right of us. The clouds prevented us from seeing some unbelievable scenery but we forgave them because they also provided a magical experience unlike anything we have enjoyed.
The second image was captured by my wife and post-processed by me. (No, the person in the image is not me. I don't look that good.) The last image is a three-file stitch.
