Nice demo Colin - thanks. I don't think I can top any of the comments made so far so I'll leave it at that. I did a self portrait myself a couple weeks ago so I could have a face shot for my website so I know the procedure. I'm glad I was alone as the process would be certain to draw a small crowd if done in public.

I didn't say the last remark I apparently said. Colin is fantasic as a pilot and photographer but nowhere did I say he is good looking even if he is. I just don't say things like that. Great photo though, I like shadows a lot. Young folk popular with ladies, when I was young it was old folk. :)

I have V3.6 of DPP and it has a slider called 'shadow' which seems to do a similar thing in lifting the shadow detail. What version do you have?
the latest version is 3.8 but it doesn't seem to have much extra over previous versions.

Yes. If you go to that Canon link I gave above and look on the right of the page it lists supported camera products, including the 50D. As it's free you should download and use it if you don't have Photoshop.

yes of course!
2 days from now it's already holy week here, and most of the people want to spend their holiday soaked in the beach!
should you guys visit us here particularly in our location which is northern part of the phils. it is generally peaceful here, in contrast with the news in cnn, that is the southern part of the country.
