    Great caption!

On the one hand I'd like to see the background blurred more. On the other hand, I like that the guy in the background couldn't care less about the photographer, which offers a nice contrast with the subject.

I find this image particularly interesting. When I first looked at it, the eldery man in front looks to be in a rather deserted place - like the last man on earth. The man behind him takes away some of that for me. As always thou Rob, you are a master story teller with your beautiful images.

    Hi Rob,

    Great conversion, lighting, and subject/composition.

Face looks a little over-sharpened though.

Inwardly, I think he's glad you took the shot, just caught him thinking negative thoughts. Nicely captured and converted.

    Re: "Are you done yet?"

I looked at this when first posted and my immediate reaction was that I thought the man standing in the in the background was a problem for the image. However, having now looked at the picture, rather than just quickly glance at it, I think the question for me is not whether it would have been a stronger image without the man there, but whether if his shirt was darkened up just a little bit, it would not compete as much for attention as the main subject.

    Another excellent portrait.

    Re: "Are you done yet?"

Another brilliant street portrait Rob. I agree with Donald about a slight darkening of the mans shirt.
What I particularly like about this image is how after looking at the main subject I found myself looking at the three other people and thinking what are they thinking, doing, planning?
It drew me into the photo.
    Nice work as always mate
Ps, did you speak with him?

    Re: "Are you done yet?"

Per suggestions, I revised the image. Face of the subject less sharpened, and the man's shirt in the background darkened a bit. I uploaded the photo straight from the computer, which I've never done before. (I usually just point to the link from the my website.) It's a 800 px wide image so I'm not sure how this will show in other people's monitor. (The original post is at 2048 px.) Viewed from my wife's laptop PC, it looks fine to me but may not translate well with other people's monitor. But here goes. Thanks for looking.

Cheers, Colin. The subject refused to wear my famous shoe polish make-up so his face didn't have a lot depth and contrast. I ended up sharpening it but I guess I got carried away. When you have a chance, please see revised image in post #13.

Thanks for kind words, Donald. I tried your suggestion. Please see my post #13 for revised image.

Good thing you didn't get within reach of that cane. Nice shot.

Cheers, Dan. No, I think I'm faster than him so I don't think that would have been a problem :-)

For some reason the conversion from my website to CiC gets problematic. I have tried to upload directly from the computer. Please see my post #13 if that is any better. Appreciate your feedback.
