CiC doesn't "convert" the images - in fact, we don't even store them (with the exception of the obsolete attachment system that hardly anyone uses anymore). All we do is insert a URL to the image; in both cases your images have been hosted with TinyPic, but you can have them hosted anywhere you like so long as the site allows direct linking; personally, I use Pbase.com - facebook works fine (although they compress fairly aggressively) - Flickr works fine - as do many others.

With regards to your 2nd image - can't really evaluate it properly due to it's small size; you really need to make it the same size as the first version (up to 1599 px if hosting with TinyPic).

I swore that the image in my website looks "better" than what got translated in CiC. Not sure how this all works. I also noticed that Flickr increases the sharpening on my images further than my original (the sRGB file I see in my monitor) so I stop uploading from Flicker. Let me try again by uploading 2048 px file (same size as original post).

Looks good. If I had to be super-picky - if it were one of my images - I'd de-emphasise the frosting on the gent's right lower pants leg, but apart from that, looks perfect.

    Good job.

Edit: Possibly a slight rotation / perspective correction too - buildings leaning a little in the background.

It looks better with bigger dimensions Rob . Members usually prefer 1200 px wide while uploading but it is up to you

Hi Colin , may I ask what frosting is? I have looked at the pants to see the discrepancy but I can't see anything

1200 is the minimum I prefer, but TinyPix will down-sample (and soften) anything bigger than 1599 px anyway.

Hi Binnur, if you look at the pant leg low down youl notice that its slightly more exposed/lighter in tone than the rest and it looks like it has a coat of frost on it so that the tone gradually darkens as it goes up the leg.

i think thats what colin is talking about

I like the perspective as is. I like everything a bit tilted but the sitting man is sitting right and IMO it adds to the composition But this is me and I don't comment on this image considering the rules of photography

Oh my God, thanks Mark ! It is so minor that I can't see it or may be I'm not experienced enough to see it

It's the "white stuff" on the pants leg that looks like frost (unless you live in a very warm climate!). It typically shows with excessive low-radius sharpening.

Here's a quick Photoshop 30-second makeover (TM!) to show you what I mean.

Thank you very much Colin for taking the time to show me I think 'frosting you mentioned' is the natural texture of his trousers.I still feel more close to Rob's original image, I don't know why, may be I find it more natural. I would also like to thank you for telling me to carry on long exposures after sun sets in one of the threads.I was out yesterday evening and I tried it , I think it worked fine. I will upload an image after editing. I would very much like you to have a look at it if you have time

Rob, sorry for touching your image while you are probably asleep. This is usually what happens in CinC to learn things, we learn better this way. If you don't like it I'm sure Colin will remove it immediately.

PS. Colin I think your edit seems dark to me and that's why I find Rob's original more natural.

And I thought they were dander from somebody's pet.

Cheers, Colin. Seeing that this is a 30-second makeover, I will restrain myself from commenting on your revision :-) Nonetheless, I see your point here.

Cheers, Binnur. No issues in Colin's revision. In fact, I wouldn't mind if anybody did the same. They do it at their own peril :-D
