    The White Cliffs of Hierapolis

I'm posting these shots more for general interest rather than c&c but comments are welcome. This is a fascinating place we visited on our recent visit to Turkey. Binnur and David (deetheturk) would no doubt be familiar with this place. It is the site of the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis but what makes it unique are the calcium carbonate cliffs and water pools. I had no idea what to expect before visiting but it was quite a revelation.

It looks like a beautiful place you visited, Dave. At least with your commentary it is understable what I am looking at instead of just looking at something to find faults with. How long did you stay there?

Issie we were in Turkey for a week (on a guided tour) but we were only at Hierapolis for one morning.

Nice captures, surprised photography of any kind is allowed at the springs.

Good series Dave, I especially like No 2 with the bit of contrasting colour. I suppose that is classed as tiered bathing

On our major trip to Turkey, we got to within one-half day away of this place but I wasn't able to squeeze it into our itinerary. It's nice to see from your photos what we missed.

    Indeed Grahame !

Mike it's a pity you missed it.

Kaye, Terri and Binnur, yes it's a lovely place. The ruins are interesting too of course.

These images would be ideal in a tourist brochure.
Great captures. I especially like #2 for the contrasting colour.
