Darn! How in the world did I make such an obvious mistake without noticing it?

I am humbled by all of your kind words and must give some of the credit to the folks here at CiC who are always so willing to share their vast knowledge and the odd opinion It has helped me tremendously in the time that I have participated here and I hope that in some small way I am able to pay it forward.

Christina, I did struggle a bit with eliminating the bottom fronds and sat toggling the adjustment layer back a forth quite a few times before deciding it was OK.

    Hi Shane,

Nice series and it's the coloured ones for me. I have tried capturing these before but have not produced anything worth keeping.

Coincidently as I walked through town this morning hanging outside our main 'posh' shop were large signs of the shops name on backgrounds almost identical to these.

Sorry for being a bit late Shane, your last edit is great! I like the extraordinary look of the palm tree in B&W very much

Thanks Binnur and Grahame. l like the idea that an image I similar to what I captured is utilized by the posh shops, although that also means that it isn't particularly original

Grahame, as far as capturing these shots I setup my tripod in a shady little glen between a few trees and then had a go with various compositions. All of these have some degree of cropping to get them to this state. I wasn't 'good enough' to capture one that worked as shot in terms of composition.

Edit is OK… always want to learn!

Re: Dance of the Palm Fronds

I wanted to wait to see the result…

Nope, the idea to remove/clean up the bottom of the frame was not, IMO, a
good suggestion! These grow close to the ground and some of that ground may
be seen with no detriment to the photograph.

The later version suggest some arial growth taken from a canopy perspective!
