    Making Cocktails

I uploaded this 800 px image from the computer so I'm not sure how it will translate to other people's monitor. I usually just link from my website where my photos are 2048 px. Still not sure if uploading 800 px at Default setting is the way to go. On my calibrated iMac and my wife's Laptop PC it looks fine. But then it may not translate well in other people's monitor. But here goes. Thanks for looking.

Rob, the image looks nice with 800 px but I don't know if it would look better in bigger dimensions after seeing your image with bigger size in your previous thread . May be you should upload a bigger one so that members can comment on the image quality related to the image size

Rob try uploading it via tiny pics at 1600 pixels along the long edge, it will be interesting to compare them.

Hi Binnur. This is a 2048 Px uploaded through TinyPics using the Default Setting. Prior to upload, the file was rendered through JPEGmini Lite to make the file size smaller.

Mark, here is the 1600 Px image uploaded through TinyPics using the Default Setting. Similar to my 2048 Px, I also compressed the file using JPEGMini Lite prior to upload just to see the difference.

Rob, this one is more pleasing to me; the shadows are not as harsh as in your first one. I like the grin on the gentleman and the deep concentration on the child's face!

Just for further comparison, here's the 1200 Px (no JPEGMini Lite applied):

    Making Cocktails

And here is the 1024 PX (also no JPEGMini Lite applied):

I'm not seeing much difference between the 1200Px and the 1024 Px with my old eyes.

I'm inclined to pick the 1200 Px above all. The 1600 Px looks fine too but a bit harsh. I still like the 2048 Px because it's big when viewed in the Light Box.

Thanks Carol for kind response. I will continue to play around with the 1200 Px (seems to be the preferred size for most folks here) and the 1600 Px. Definitely, not the 800 Px. I am still learning.

Hi Rob, sorry for being a bit late. I had some internet problems in the evening , I had to change the IP to get a connection. I'm quite happy with 1200 px . I'm glad that you agree with 1200 px too

The image noise gives it a nice aged look. Good job!

Thanks, Daniel. I tend to always add noise to my B&W portraits to simulate that film look.
