    Very good Andre and Izzie

Whilst you guys have all been spending your time taking the mickey out of my invention I have been far more productive and already have the sand version under-way.

Heck - I just put mine in the water -- it doesn't bother the carbon fibre at all.

So here's my solution, plastic water pipe, end caps, nuts and bolts with a bit of grinding and some plastic conduit to make the top clamping collets. It slides snugly over the existing rubber feet and they are pretty rigid.

It will serve two purposes, lock the feet rigidly and is waterproof up to near the top of the plastic with a bonus that if it gets scratched around on rock and coral I really don't care as they only cost me 1$ 20c FJ for the three end caps

The Prototype - to be trialled later this week, depending on weather

Love it, I'm all for building things myself especially in this world that is so obsessed with having the latest, biggest, designer labels, etc, I await the next versions

I build my own computers, I love gas struts but I couldn't find a PC case with any on so I built one, I'm also designing an aluminium filter holder as I can't bring myself to pay the prices that the likes of Lee want

    Mike,

Gas struts - really great idea - easy access, no screws to lose (I hope) - maintenance dream, best get it patented quick :-)

I trust the development version will use desert boots otherwise it creates a real clash of colour - mind you, I can see a benefit for the wellies if it's really windy - just fill them with sand - rock solid !

You are right, all done with magnets Steve, lots of Neodymium magnets, real powerful for their size but you need to keep them away from some of the electronic components as they don't play well together

No No Colin, the wellie version is not for the water but to spread the contact area on the sand to stop sinkage

Was it not Christina who started this off with her tripod bootie mods for use on a ferry?
