    Unwanted colour when printing

I have an image which a friend would like printing here but the underside of the bomber and small parts of the hurricane and spitfire are showing up with red, which I take it is from the high ISO I took it at. My printer and monitor are calibrated but I can't seem to shift the redness on the print. It looks acceptable on the monitor and website. Help appreciated please folks.

Clone or spot removal won't help - the image I linked to is the original and the one here is a copy of the print showing total redness - I think you were of the opinion that the red I wanted rid of was the plane light underneath. Should have posted this to start with to help.

    Hi Nigel,

ive just printed rough n ready allowing PS to manage the colours with no paper ink profile because im at work and i have no cast at all. you need to look to your printer and profiles/print settings i think.

    scanned pic below

Theres nothing wrong with the raw file.

    What software are you using?

it looks like youve applied some sort of filter to it to me....

Now that is rather bizarre. It almost looks like a screen capture with a mask applied to the planes . This is not a high ISO issue at all.

Thanks Mark, I was using CS6 and duplicated the BG then put into screen mode to brighten the planes, then selective colour adjustment to darken the sky back down, then smart sharpened.

It looks like it Manfred but wasn't. I took it at ISO800, 1/4000 sec which I've used before without any problem. Back to the drawing board I think. Thanks guys.

I think it must be a software issue, as when I open the file in Camera RAW, it looks fine:

Have you checked the ink flow of your printer? Clogged nozzles can result in some rather weird results.

This is really starting to look like a printer issue to me. Are your other prints coming out okay?

If it's not an ink supply issue, I'd start looking at the printer settings. If you are using a colour managed workflow, then somehow the data that Lightroom is sending over to the printer is being misinterpreted and the wrong colours are being printed. I assume you are using an RGB rather than CMYK setting?

    Re: Unwanted colour when printing

Printer issue it was guys - have been through the colour settings and a couple of things seem to have got changed somehow. I wasn't expecting that. I don't change settings as a rule and that's what threw me. No more red cast.

Thanks very much for your input.
