    Calling To Its Mate

This eagle was about a half mile from its nest site. It was calling and another eagle was responding.

Edit is OK… always want to learn!

    Re: Calling To Its Mate

There is an obvious lack of details and micro-contrast in this shot. If you would
say something about the weather conditions at the time… like light fog or something,
this would explain it. Otherwise, like john said, "nice capture!"

Cloud cover does not necessarily obstruct your subject… did you have a clear line to the bird?

Obviously the eagle was pretty high up, so he would have to be shot almost straight up in a cloudy sky, thus showing no detail.

Maybe what Kodiak is trying to say is that the content is interesting and the composition is pretty good as well. But from a technical standpoint it is not well executed.

Thanks Dan, … but I want more! I want to know/understand what has stolen the
missing qualities in the shot. This could have been a great opportunity for Chuck
to bring home a super duper take… but he didn't. I wanna know why! Telling him
that the shot is not so great is not enough. Knowing why may help us find a solution.
