May I introduce my son Olivier?

My younger son will be 16 next September 4.
Passionate photographer, hockey player, archer, drummer and…

This shot was taken right after the training routine I designed for him and
that he has to go through every second day in preparation for the next
    hockey season.

When I saw him all in sweat and asked him to take the shot, he agreed…
"… but you got 5 minutes, I want to take a shower and meet my friends
in 20 minutes in the city."

    C&C welcomed

May I introduce my son Olivier?

I love this shot and the B&W conversion is superb. He has an incredible physique and stretching the bow accentuates his back muscles.......I would love to see his face just out of curiosity, do you have a front version of this as I would imagine it would look just as good.

Hey Joanne, remember? I had 5 minutes! I spent them optimizing every aspect
I could in this short time.

Glad you and Kim like the take… thanks for your comment.

I think it is a brilliant shot. I'm figuring that the main light is coming from camera left probably at 45 degrees toward your son. The gradual change in tone from left to right is superb. It has an almost film like quality. For my own edification, did you use a black background here? Or was that shopped in PS? Nicely captured.

Yes, it was taken in front of a black seamless and no, I am a SOOC freak!
…so PS, LR (anything from their maker) are pretty much taboo in my workflow.
Instead, I use a very powerful RAW converter.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Nicely done, I'm not sure if the watermark will prevent any downloads.

A pleasure to meet you Olivier! We've heard a bit about you, all good I might add.

And a real beaut of a shot Kodiak.

    But no arrow?

Great image. For the pose with the bow I think it works better from this angle. Sounds like your son stays pretty busy and is serious about his interests. Nicely done.

John, my watermark will for sure not prevent downloads but just make it harder
to steal (but not impossible I know) —thanks

No arrow, Terry! The bow is rather powerful and to keep it steady some very
long seconds (15 to 25) at the time after the routine would be too dangerous! —thanks

    Excellent conversion to B/W...
Just as well, Kodiak did not take a frontal shot, or I would have swoon... Now that is what I call "sexy"...nice bod...

Great image, Kodiak! My only question: how did the guy with the apple on his head fare?

    Do you mean "feel"?
If yes, possibly better! …since the shooter (his father) did not have to go
through my training routine before! ;-)

An accident is less likely with a crossbow anyway.

Daniel - you have crafted a wonderful image of your son; and I'm not a bit surprised that having a father from Montreal would have inspired a passion for hockey. He certainly does work out...

The first thing that struck me when I originally looked at this image is "where's the arrow?". I'm afraid that that thought is still with me when I look at this image.

Since I am the trainer of the team my two boys play with, I am happy to see the results
of my work in the training room and on the ice.

Like I said before, after the routine it would have been too dangerous. Before the routine?
…the muscles would not look that way!

How were your Senators last year?

I am sure he’s not going to sell a D3x and replace it with an MFT because he cannot carry heavy gear.
