    Stealing Avedon

A wise photographer once said, "The lights don't matter. The camera doesn't matter. The lens doesn't matter. The only thing that matters (to a portrait photographer) is, how do you get that look in their eyes?"

Thanks to Binnur, I had a little bit of help on the post-edits from her. Anything you like should most likely be credited to her. The ones that don't work is totally my fault. Thanks for looking.

I like this a lot. Please share a photo made in a similar style by Avedon, as I'm not familiar with this style in his body of work.

Mike, you're killing me. It was meant as tongue in cheek. Sorry for misleading title. So it's not strictly same style. I was merely thinking of him when I was developing this image. In truth, these two images came to mind:

    Stealing Avedon + Stealing Avedon

First one shot by Richard Avedon. The second was by John Loengard.

Thanks for your usual kind words, Mike. Cheers.

Nicely done, when I saw the title I thought for sure you were going to use "Avedon lighting".

Thanks, John, for your kind comment. Sorry for the misleading title.

Mine was a minor help and the image looked good already when I saw it first. Your title made me inquire about Avedon through internet and I learnt some more about photography, thanks for that. It is a matter of looking at a half filled glass of water. Some people might say it is half full, some people might say it is half empty

You deserve the credit, Binnur. Your help makes a big difference to the overall image. Thanks again. Glad you also checked out Avedon. His work is one of those worthy to be studied in my opinion. Cheers.
