No matter what angle this dog of yours shot well, Travis. I love the expression and the eyes here. Good shot.

Thanks guys. You're right Izzie, she is a natural, always seems to be posing for me and finding a spot in the yard with great light. My Jack Russell Rocky, on the other hand is really difficult to catch as he never stays still long enough for me to get a good shot.

Travis...the only small dog I will ever have will be a Jack Russell...so I said--until I was handed a Blue Heeler through no choice of my own. I love her but I once trained a Jack Russell when I still used to train dogs in Oz and I love those ones. They are easy peasey to train in the ring. And very protective...Do you have one of your Jackie one for me? Good or bad..???

The texture and colours are superb. Have you considered just making it a portrait? It would eliminate the tree trunk and reduce the amount of slightly distracting background.

Nice shot of a beautiful dog and nicely processed. Looking at it initially the BG was bothersome but viewed larger in the lightbox the eyes/expression are so captivating that BG etc. simply goes unnoticed. Nicely done.

I also was thinking that a little tighter crop might help. A large out-of-focus object in the foreground is slightly distracting, or if it could be a wider view it might work too, if you could see a little of the ground it would become more of a scene. The dog itself is very striking.

Oh, I don't know, maybe somewhere in between, as for the crop? However you like it, really.
