    Sleeping Time for Dogs

Over the last week, my images have been of dogs (my own, Garry, and Daisy who's staying with us until Tuesday).

After all the running about, there has to be sleeping time. This is the result of using a number of filters in Nik's Colour Efex Pro software. Great tool. This isn't a B & W.

I used the following filters to get to this final image:
    • Darken/Lighten Centre
    • Monday Morning
    • Vignette : Blur

As always, your thoughts and comments are appreciated.

That is a cute picture. Likely it would not have looked very interesting, though, without the effects you put into it.

I like the affect of the processing - I think it suits the subject well. I am not sure I like the blur on the nearest dog, though: it looks more like subject movement.

looks like my group between about 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, the poochies nap time... I haven't used the Monday Morning Filter but, it does work nicely...

Great shot, Donald! The post-processing is very well done! Although I have to agree with Greg's point about the blur. I think the image would have been much better if both dogs were in focus rather than one and a half!

    Cheers

I think that's exactly right. You can never make a great image out of a poor photograph. But you can take something simple and turn it into something worth a second glance with appropriate creative work in the digital darkroom.

I dig this, Donald. It takes great skill to turn the mundane into something special. This image sort of takes me back to the days of Polaroid. I love the blurs. (IMHO, sharpness is over rated.) Cheers.
