    Cradle Mountain

Hi all, have been lucky enough to be able to take Cindy away for a weekend to celebrate her birthday at Cradle Mountain Tasmania. It's really turned it on for us with lots of snow which Cindy has never been in before so she is pretty impressed with it all.
This photo is the mountain taken over Dove lake.
Weather was a bit rough so the lake was choppy and editing has been done on my iPad using Snapseed but I like how it turned out. Will post some more when I get home.
    Cheers, Greg

And I let Cindy loose with my other camera. One happy photographer

I think the choppy lake adds to the drama of this shot. Also looks like your spare camera is no longer spare !!

Thanks Kay, awesome place here, having soooo much fun. Just spent the last 15 minutes photographing possums on our balcony. They have full tummies now, gave them an apple each

Edit is OK… always want to learn!

    Hey Greg,

I like the picture a lot… but not the rendition!
The chosen mode combo version is clever but it is, IMO, far over done sharpening wise!

'Glad Cindy and you enjoyed your trip. Now you are going to have competition with your gears....

Seriously...what I want to see are some shots down Franklin River one day...love that place.

Definitely mate, Snapseed is just a fun editing programme for iPad and a bit like portrait professional, can be over done. I will post something a bit more serious when I get home

Never been there Izzie, I'm embarrassed to say this is my first trip to Cradle Mountain and I have lived in Tasmania all my life, so much I haven't seen yet

Same feelings as Kodiak and the blacks are too deep (unless they really are like that?) but I'm sure that the follow up will put that right. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

Greg, great images! The lake is beautiful, yet makes one want to get an extra coat on! I really like the touch of blue sky in the corner! Have to say, your wife is strong competition for you! Her photo is excellent, your red coat against a bleak background really makes the photo!

Nice images. Both images say "cold".
In the second one, my eye goes to the one dark branch over your head that
had the snow dusted off. Strong contrast.

    Hi Greg,

Gorgeous mountain landscape... I love the close up view of the mountains, the snow, clouds and the mist, and also the peek of a beautiful blue sky. For me the PP is a bit too much, but I love this image! And I'm very much looking forward to seeing another version. PS Cindy takes great pics!

Nice capture Greg, Cindy's image looks a bit dodgy though or should I say the guy in it?
