Beautiful,
Yours, angularly
Nice capture John!
Cool Idea… but with over saturated rendition.
Just maybe you can tone down the orangy thingie? Is this like-HDR?
It is nice John A bit too saturated though. Have you tried B&W as well?
I like the mono version
John, I too would like to see the first image in B&W.
In your series of three, I prefer the third one (2nd B&W conversion). Looking at the image there was something that bothered me, not the processing or composition, but the subject. Then I realized what it was, the unit on our left, appears to be looking at, and worried about, something coming down the street on its right. Seriously, maybe it's something subliminal but the image bothers me (not to say that it's not a good image, just that there's a subliminal message in that house).
John, the PSE edit and Nik conversion is the one I like...zooming it, it is selective sharpening and the way you did it is very appealing. My feelings this morning is a little bit off (too much gallivanting in Chicago yesterday...ha!) so I am very interested in the subliminal message of this shot as mentioned by Jack. The last photo with the guy and the beautiful chair evoke the same feeling as Jack's...the chair is beautiful and the design of it gives a strong emotion just looking at it and imagining who used to sit in this chair -- how stressful it is to be there commanding respect, commanding obedience from his subject (God help him if he is an errant child...) and then the guy at the top. What is really going on in there, in that room where the chair is?
I wish to tell you how pleased I am with this one and the colour gives a feeling of strength and mystery about it...
Izzie,
Thank you for the thoughtful comments. Regarding Corners Part 2, I hope there is enough of interest for the viewer, I keep finding other interesting bits here and there. For Corners Part 3, there is a very interesting backstory regarding the chair and I am sure our Canadian friends are more familiar with it. The chair is in the former home of Sir William Pellatt, a Canadian businessman and the location is inside Casa Loma. I linked to this website on another thread but for those who may have missed it, you can find the story of Pellatt at:

Glad you had fun in Chicago, hoping to see some images.
